Training in the Core Values of Hospitality and Life Skills

Café Reconcile’s hospitality school provides at-risk teens and young adults with the skills they need to succeed in jobs in the hospitality industry. The practical on-the-job experience for interns over a 6 week period also helps them to develop essential life skills.

ELF provides financial support for the hospitality training programs that enable these youth to prepare themselves for the workforce. The foundation will also assist Cafe Reconcile as it builds a new kitchen and instruction space on the 2nd floor of its building, as a part of Reconcile’s plan to renovate the five-story location. The training program will expand to offer further reach into the community.

Cafe Reconcile is a non-profit collaborative project of the Lafranz Simmons Falcon Foundation, the St. John Francis Regis Hospitality School, and Catholic Charities. The foundation’s mission is to bring together individuals, businesses, nonprofits and faith communities in neighborhoods of need to help create jobs and support economic development through entrepreneurship and community-based outreach programs.
